Each year between 2,000-2,500 patients make appointments with the doctor which they then do not attend. This is equivalent to three weeks lost appointments each year. It deprives the same number of patients of the opportunity to see the doctor.

Patients who miss three or more appointments within a rolling 12 month period without informing us, will be sent a warning letter inviting then to explain why this abuse of NHS services has occurred.

Persistent breaches of this rule will be discussed by the partners and the final sanction could be the removal of you and your family from the practice registered list.
